Playing Games in Treatment

The boys sit down today and talk about the colloquial term “playing the game” as it pertains to treatment. While some practitioners discourage the use of such a term to describe something as important as clinical psychotherapy, the GSW crew looks at this as an opportunity to reinforce client buy-in to treatment. Specifically, we invite clients to think of treatment strategically and how playing the game correctly can improve their lives. It was a fun discussion and I really enjoyed it. We hope you do to!

Episode 56: Untouchable Reaction Video (Part 1)

The boys sit down today and do their inaugural reaction video to the documentary Untouchable. Episode 55: Self-Disclosure with Hilary Hislop, CSW

The boys sit down today with Hilary Hislop. Hilary is a Certified Social Worker with six years of experience working in the social work field. Out of those six years of experience, she has worked with troubled at-risk youth, homelessness, substance abuse, and sexual offenders. Hilary specializes in cognitive behavior therapy, case management, and motivational interviewing. Hilary is a powerful force in the workplace and uses her positive attitude and tireless energy to encourage others to work hard and succeed. Hilary is inspired by her three daughters, who have given her the motivation to never give up. In her free time, Hilary likes to hike, draw, run, and take her daughters on dates.

Episode 54: Pornography Banter with Brett Hoxer, CMHC

We have a special guest joining us today, Mr. Brett Hoxer. Brett is a Certified Mental Health Counselor providing assessment and clinical treatment to adult sex offenders. Our topic of discussion today focuses on pornography. We get into pornography use leading to depression, relationship turmoil, and other challenges; the evolution of pornography; and, whether or not it should be considered an “addiction”.

Assertive Communication
