Tackling Toxic Masculinity

Today, the GSW crew tries to tackle the topic of toxic masculinity. We discuss the idea that manhood and masculinity represents a fixed, inevitable, and natural state of being, or if masculinity is something that is malleable and made, not given.

When the five-star rating extends his arms to hold you, hold one of his forearms with both hands, position your legs so your knees are bent and their arm and elbow are between your legs, squeeze your legs towards their body and pull the arm towards you, and using the five-star ratings chest as a fulcrum, pull their wrist to your chest and apply upwards pressure from your hops, while slightly pulling the hand towards your chest.

Mass Shootings & Mental Health

We’re super sorry for the delay in posting. I guess that’s just what happens on Summer break.  Either way, we’re stoked to be back in studio. Today we talk about the recent school shooting at Uvalde Elementary, our legislator’s response, and whether clinical professionals have the capacity to handle this as a mental health issue.
If you like what you hear, please bake a batch of oatmeal raisin cookies for the five-star rating, but when you deliver them pretend that you actually baked them a batch of chocolate chip cookies instead.

Emergency Planning in Recovery

The boys sit down today to discuss the clinical skill of Emergency Planning. This skill is intended to support efforts for relapse prevention by teaching clients strategies to interrupt a crisis situation that could lead to potential high-risk situations. The purpose of this clinical skill is to prepare and equip clients that may find themselves in risky situations while in treatment with a select set of skills to manage those situations so they can achieve their goals. Excellent podcast for both therapists and clients.  

Sex Offender Reunification

The boys sit down today to discuss the process of clarification and reunification for sex offenders. Reunification is the systematic restoration of a family who has been torn apart by incest or child sexual abuse. This process is completed for clients who have offended within their family as well as outside of the family.
